I began drawing at a time where Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards were banned from schools. I remember because I was mad as hell at not being able to trade with my friends. Anyway, I also remember because those two anime were my biggest influences back then. Those eventually gave way to more mature-themed anime like InuYasha, Trigun and Yu Yu Hakusho.
Over the years I developed more hobbies and interests and my range of influences expanded to Bob Rafei, Tetsuya Nomura, and Sanami Matoh. While all of those artists' marks aren't found in every single piece I can see that thought the years their presence has remained prominent in my sketchbooks and I must say I'm satisfied with what I've drawn from their works. Very very satisfied. Sometimes, when I'm doubting myself and the skills I do have,I look at their artwork and remember all the great ideas and stories they've inspired within me…and honestly, that really helps to keep me going.
